I did it as a project whilst learning about 3D rendering. Working on this image really made me appreciate the time and effort that goes into this kinda stuff. The texturing took as long as the modelling work, which surprised me. Also, I didn't appreciate the amount of trial and error that goes into doing the lighting and rendering. You definitely need a really fast machine with bucket loads of memory.
